How to buy Nike’s hottest trainers of 2019
After months of hype, the collaboration between Off White designer Virgil Abloh and Nike is set to drop this month.
Abloh, former creative consultant to Kanye West and one of the world’s most exciting designers, has reworked ten famous Nike models for The Ten collection. Comprising the Presto (above), the Air Max 90, Air Max 97, Vapormax, Jordan 1, Air Force 1 Low, React Hyperdunk, Zoom Vaporfly, the Blazer and Converse's Chuck Taylor (Nike own Converse), these deconstructed and rebuilt versions of classic trainers are the sort of thing you’d be sleeping on the street and paying through the nose for.
However, thanks to some canny marketing and judicious planning from Nike and Abloh, they have decided to make the process democratic, or at least, random. In order to be able to purchase a pair of what, arguably, are the most hyped trainers since adidas’ Yeezys, you need only enter a raffle, online, at your chosen retailer.

The trainers launch on November 9th, but you’ll need to register for the raffle ahead of time and be able to pick them up from the store. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it - entering a raffle to be allowed to buy a new pair of sneakers. But, given that it prevents you having to spend the night sat on a camping chair outside a shop like some streetwear devotees, we like it.
