How to make black currant jam

You will need
    • 1 kg of black currant berries;
  • 1 kg of sugar;
  • 0.5 tsp tartaric or citric acid.
Currant slightly mash, so that the berries are better soaked with sugar. Add sugar and leave for a few hours.
When the berries give the juice, put the dishes on low heat and cook until ready in one go, at the same time stop cooking for a few minutes 2-3 times.
Jam immediately after boiling, hot lay in sterile jars, pasteurized and sealed.
Second way
Prepare the cans and berries of black currant, as described in step number 1. Prepare a syrup at the rate of 1 kg of sugar per 0.5 l of water. Put the berries in the syrup and cook until thick. Black currant jam does not need to add pectin, because the berries contain it sufficiently. To add a special flavor and aroma, add 0.5 tsp. tartaric or citric acid.
Third way
Pour currants into the cooking basin, crush them slightly. Add water and 800 g of sugar.Bring the mixture to a boil over low heat. Boil for 15 minutes. Set aside in a cool place for 8-10 hours. Then add the rest of the sugar and cook until done.
Fourth way
Stir the currants in a saucepan under the lid and rub it through a sieve. Prepare sugar syrup from 0.5 l of water and 500 g of sugar. Pour black currant puree into it and cook for 15-20 minutes. Then add the remaining sugar and cook until ready.
