How lovely. Dog with terminal bone cancer plays in the snow one last time.
Owner Takes Dog with Terminal Bone Cancer for One Last Bittersweet Play Day
If you didn't have much longer to live, what would you choose to do with your remaining days? Would you travel the world or do something crazy you've never done before?
Well, one adorable St. Bernard named Sophia was tragically diagnosed with terminal bone cancer two months ago, and the thing she loves the most is rolling around in a fresh mound of snow. So her owner, Alyson Page, took it upon herself to give her massively furry friend an amazing last day of life.
"She absolutely loves the snow," Page says in the video. "I've been searching for ideas, just something to make the last time that we've got with her really special, because she's been such a special dog."
Page sent an email to the indoor ski slop Chill Factore in Manchester, England, to ask if she could bring her furry friend to play in the snow as a dying wish. She never really expected anything to come of it, but a day before Sophia was going to be put down, the ski slop answered her email and invited the pair to come enjoy the wintery playground.
And Sophia could not have loved it more. She pranced around and rubbed her back into the cold stuff that she so adores. All of which was a much needed change after being so glum for weeks on end.
"She's not really shown any interest in anything for a good couple of weeks now, so just to see her with a waggy tail and diving around in the snow…it's just been amazing," Page said.
