Street Chic: April 2010
Fashion inspiration can be found everywhere, but for us, there is nothing better than looking to the streets and finding yourself inspired by the stylish ladies that wander them. From chunky fur coats to military-inspired anoraks, these girls are super chic and they know it.
As always, we have found ourselves inspired by an assortment of different styles, from the rocker-chic vibe of Girl #2 to the casual city aesthetic of Girl #4. Whether you are looking for an entirely new outfit or you just want some fresh and exciting ways to dress up your favorite pieces, pick a girl (or two) and get inspired by this month’s edition of Street Chic.
TOP TO BOTTOM, LEFT TO RIGHT
#1.We always love a girl who can effortlessly incorporate a major trend into her look, such as the clog, without looking like she is trying too hard. The overall look is classic, with an edge. Steal her style by grabbing this (5) by Elizabeth & James and pairing it with this (.29) from Asos. Add a pair of Jeffrey Campbell’s (4.95) and then finish off the look with Topshop’s ().
#2.We love how smoothly this girl blends her rock & roll vibe with a bohemian aesthetic to come up with an outfit that is totally cool. Make this look your own by mixing Mango’s (.47) with Topshop’s (5). Add a pair of Aldo’s (.98) and then throw Simone’s (0) over your shoulder.
#3.A grunge-inspired look always catches our eye and this girl shows us how to add a little flair, by adding high end accessories like Alexander Wang’s (5). Grab this look by wearing AE’s (.95) with Ambrose’s (5) and Cecilia De Bucourt’s (5). For an alternative to the Wang bag, try this (8) by Marc by Marc Jacobs.
#4.We love how this girl has mixed a pair of feminine espadrille sandals with boyfriend jeans for a cool-yet-casual look. Try a similar style by grabbing BDG’s Slim Boyfriend Jeans () and adding these () by Bandolino. Grab your favorite slouchy tee and then throw this Crossed Canvas Tote () by Pink Studio over your shoulder.
#5.This one is for all the girls who love to layer. This girl has thrown one of spring’s best looks – the military-style anorak – over skinny blue jeans and leather ankle boots for a look that is trend-driven but still fresh. You can recreate this look by pairing BDG’s Cinched Waist Anorak () with Denimocracy’s (). Finish off your outfit by adding BC Footwear’s (.95) and this Chainlink Slouchy Beanie (.99) from Urban Outfitters.
#6.For our final Street Chic pick, we’re digging the tough vs feminine combination that this girl has mastered. Ready to try this look out? Start with French Connection’s (0.64) and then add Silence & Noise’s Faux Leather Biker Jacket (.99). The look isn’t complete without Free People’s Daisy Hat () and Windsor’s (.90).
