Wendy Williams Passes Out on Live TV -- See the Scary Moment
Wendy Williams Passes Out During Live Episode of 'The Wendy Williams Show'
Wendy Williams gave her audience a real scare on Tuesday morning when she fainted on live television during her Halloween special.
The 53-year-old host ofThe Wendy Williams Showwas dressed as the Statue of Liberty, but her costume got the best of her about 48 minutes into the program.
"We do it every year. It's always a lot of fun," she began, introducing the Halloween costume winner for her "How You Doin'" segment. Williams' speech suddenly became slurred, and she got a panicked look on her face before stumbling backwards and collapsing to the floor. Stagehands rushed to the stage while the crowd screamed, and the broadcast quickly cut to a commercial.
The host returned after a long break and addressed the incident. "That was not a stunt," she stated. "I'm overheated in my costume and I did pass out. But, you know what? I'm a champ and I'm back!"
Williams' publicist Alexandra Sinclair tells The Associated Press the host is "feeling much better" and was able to finish the show OK. Sinclair says Williams will "address the incident on tomorrow's show."
